and it's 1:45 am Chicago time, 1:45 pm Delhi time. A toddler who was stretched out asleep two aisles ahead of me has just fallen off her seat with a loud thump, and has begun to cry loudly, the poor thing. The flight has been otherwise tortuously long and uneventful. Everyone has managed to contort themselves into various sleeping positions and it has occurred to me that an extremely effective torture method would be to deprive a victim of sleep and force him to stay in an airplane seat for a few days. We are now flying over the Faeroe islands. 7 hours down and 8 hours to go.

Now we're flying over what appears to be a giant white wasteland, otherwise known as Russia. Hannah and I heard someone mention SIT, and we turned around to spy on a pretty blonde girl who we now know is Molly Cohen! A white woman next to me has been meditating with her legs in the full lotus position for nearly the entire 12 hours we have been on this plane. She cheerfully brought a white bouquet of flowers aboard the plane that she holds over her meditation pillow on her lap. I wonder if she knows that white is the color of death and mourning in India. We learned in our culture session that an airline once made a massive mistake by handing out white carnations to all passengers aboard a flight to India. Ahaha.
